Since 9 December 2024, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee has been conducting temporary internal border controls on behalf of the Ministry of Asylum and Migration to combat irregular migration and cross-border crime. In addition to the internal border controls at the land borders, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee has also been carrying out internal border controls at Dutch airports since 28 July 2025. The results of the internal border controls at the airports are currently being compiled and are not yet included in the table.
