The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee places great value on professional and correct conduct. If you feel you have been treated improperly or unfairly by a Marechaussee officer, we would like to hear from you. You can submit a complaint about this.

Write the word 'Complaint' in the top left-hand corner of the envelope. Always include your name, address, telephone number, and a clear description of the incident in your letter.

What happens to your complaint?

  • You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt once your complaint has arrived.

  • A complaint handler from the brigade will investigate what happened. Both you and the staff member involved will be given the opportunity to give your account of events.

  • We will explore whether a mediation meeting is possible. You will always receive a written response to your complaint.

  • Are you not satisfied with the outcome? You can ask the Independent Complaints Committee or the National Ombudsman to review your complaint.
