Travelling to the Netherlands
Ensure you possess a valid travel document upon your entry to the Netherlands. Acceptable documents include an identity card (for intra-European travel) or a passport. Visa requirements may apply, based on your nationality.
For individuals arriving from outside the Schengen Area, it is crucial that your travel document remains valid for a minimum of three months following your departure from the Schengen zone. It is mandatory for accompanying children to have their individual, valid travel documents.
Travelling with a Dutch residence permit
If you are of a non-Schengen nationality but hold a valid Dutch residence permit, your travel document should be valid upon your arrival in the Netherlands. The three-month post-departure validity requirement is not applicable for individuals holding a valid Dutch residence permit.
