General Aviation pilots must inform the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee about their planned trip before crossing the external borders of the Schengen area. The information in a General Declaration helps the Marechaussee ensure smooth border crossings for travellers.
The General Declaration includes details about the crew, aircraft registration number, and travel plan.

How it works
To submit a General Declaration, use Gendec.EU at least 2 hours before departure. This applies to flights leaving the Netherlands for a non-Schengen country and flights arriving from a non-Schengen country to the Netherlands.
Official border crossing points are the only places where aircraft can enter and exit the Schengen area. These points have specific opening hours.
