General Aviation pilots must inform the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee about their planned trip before crossing the external borders of the Schengen area. The information in a General Declaration helps the Marechaussee ensure smooth border crossings for travellers.
General Declaration submission (Update: July 2026)
The introduction of the new Dutch Traveller Portal has been temporarily postponed. The information and instructions below are fully up to date. Please continue to submit your General Declaration via Gendec.eu at least 2 hours before departure. We will update this page as soon as a new platform becomes available.
The General Declaration includes details about the crew, aircraft registration number, and travel plan.
How it works
To submit a General Declaration, use Gendec.eu at least 2 hours before departure. This applies to flights leaving the Netherlands for a non-Schengen country and flights arriving from a non-Schengen country to the Netherlands.
Official border crossing points are the only places where aircraft can enter and exit the Schengen area. These points have specific opening hours.
