Lost passport, ID card or driving licence at Dutch airport

If your passport, ID card or driving licence has been lost at a Dutch airport, you can check with the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee whether it was found.

Passports found at the airport are returned directly to the Marechaussee to protect the identity of the owner. To claim a lost identification document, you can contact the Marechaussee via phone

Report lost documents

If your travel document was not found, report this as soon as possbile to your embassy or consulate. In case your Dutch passport or ID card was not found, report this to your municipality (gemeente) as soon as possible. This is necessary to prevent misuse of your old travel document and to apply for a new travel document. Reporting to the police is not mandatory.
