At the request of the European Commission, the Netherlands is conducting a pilot with a Digital Travel Credential (DTC) to allow for processes at and around the border to be carried out more effectively and efficiently and to facilitate travellers, while respecting their security and privacy.
Update 1 April 2024: The pilot has ended. It is no longer possible to participate.
Holders of Dutch, Belgian, and Canadian passports flying from Canada to the Netherlands on a KLM flight can voluntarily participate in the pilot until 31 March. Participants create a digital copy of their passport (DTC) before departure, which allows them to board more easily and pass through the border more quickly after landing.
