An air carrier, agent, freight forwarder or any other entity who ensures security controls in respect of cargo or mail.
Application procedure
The application for obtaining the status of regulated agent consists of two parts.
To apply for a regulated status, submit a security programme to the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee Civil Aviation Security Brigade (BTBB). The BTBB has developed a standard template for this purpose. You can request the most recent version of this template though the web form at the bottom of this page. It will then be sent to you by email. Fill in all of your company's security procedures (in accordance with EU regulations) and quality control mechanisms.
The BTBB will assess the submitted security programme. Then, they will visit your company. During this visit, a Marechaussee inspector will review your security measures and procedures in practice. You must have already undergone a background check. In addition, you must have completed relevant training from an approved training institute.
If the BTBB is satisfied with the information provided in both parts, they will approve your application. They will ensure that the details of the agent are entered into the EU database on supply chain security no later than the following working day. Your approval is not official until the data is in the EU database.

Looking up a company with regulated status
If a company has the status of regulated agent, this means that the company meets national and European legislation. The current list of regulated agents or known consignors can be found in the EU database.
