Royal Netherlands Marechaussee enforces drone ban around airports during NATO summit
The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee is enforcing strict rules for drone flights at and around Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, and Eindhoven Airport, in connection with the NATO summit taking place on June 24 and 25 in The Hague.

Around Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Rotterdam The Hague Airport, a general ban on drone flights applies from June 23 to June 25, regardless of the drone's weight or type. Around Eindhoven Airport, additional restrictions apply: drones with a maximum take-off weight of 25 kilos may fly up to a maximum altitude of 120 meters, in addition to the regular rules.
Only drones explicitly approved for security purposes, such as those used by the police or Defence, are exempt from this ban. Violation of these rules can result in a high fine, a summons, and confiscation of the drone. Drone pilots are responsible for checking the applicable restrictions themselves via the GoDrone and Aeret Kaartviewer flight maps.
